Johan Cruyff Institute and League1 Canada announce plans to support soccer education and career development

Toronto, ON – (June 18, 2024) – League1 Canada and Johan Cruyff Institute announce that scholarship opportunities are available for League1 Canada players, coaches, and club staff in the upcoming academic year.

It was announced in April that Johan Cruyff Institute and League1 Canada have formed a partnership that will advance the education and career development for people associated with League1 Pro-Am soccer in Canada.

Players, coaches, and club staff across League1 Ontario, League1 BC, Ligue1 Québec, and League1 Alberta can apply for a variety of scholarships that will allow them to enrol on select Johan Cruyff Institute degree programs – either fully paid or at a discounted rate. The programs include Master in Football Business (in partnership with FC Barcelona) and Master in Sport Business, postgraduate degree programs, and specialized diplomas.

A further breakdown of the scholarships and application criteria can be found at the bottom of this release. For interested parties, an online information session will be held at 10:30am ET, 7:30am PT, on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Please click here to register to this information event.
