It’s east versus east, and west versus west, in the semifinals of the 2024 League1 Canada Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship.
The matchups for the opening round of the annual competition, which will take place starting Friday, Aug. 9 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ont., were set on Sunday night during the broadcast of Match Night on OneSoccer, marking the Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship’s first live television draw.
NDC Ontario will host the competition’s first semifinal, when the champions of Ontario take on the champions from Ligue1 Québec – determined on Saturday, Aug. 3, when CF Montréal and CS Mont Royal Outremont face off in the Ligue1 Québec Féminine final, with the winner of that match securing its trip to Hamilton to compete on the national stage.
The evening’s second semifinal will see the competition’s defending champions, Whitecaps FC Girls Elite, host tournament debutants Calgary Blizzard. This year marks the first time League1 Alberta is competing in the Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship after joining the League1 Canada alliance in December 2023
The semifinals will take place at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT and 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT, respectively. The winner of each semifinal will advance to the Championship Final on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT, while the other two teams will compete in a third-place match at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT that day.
All four Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship matches will be broadcast on dedicated soccer channel OneSoccer, available as a linear channel on Optik TV (Ch. 980), the pay-TV service operated by Telus, one of Canada’s “big three” telecoms companies, as well as on streaming service fuboTV Canada and internationally, including Fox Soccer Plus in the United States. OneSoccer is also offered as an affordable streaming service through the OneSoccer.ca website, via Roku, Chromecast and Apple TV devices and with the OneSoccer app for iOS and Android devices. The competition itself will also air on OneSoccer’s YouTube channel.
Individual match tickets for the 2024 Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship are now on sale starting at $20. Fans can also purchase a Weekend Ticket Pack starting at $35. Each Weekend Ticket Pack also grants the ticket holder access to the inaugural League1 Ontario Women’s League2 Division Final, which will be played at Tim Hortons Field on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. ET. The winner of the final will earn the divisional title and promotion to the L1ON Championship Division, the second tier of the League1 Ontario competition pyramid.
