2024 Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship draw and broadcast details announced

Toronto, ON – (July 26, 2024) – League1 Canada, the alliance of Canada’s provincial Division III Pro-Am men’s and women’s soccer leagues, today announced that the official draw for the 2024 Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship will take place on Sunday, July 28 during a live broadcast on OneSoccer. The competition will then air in full on dedicated soccer channel OneSoccer on Friday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug. 11.

The 2024 Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship will be contested at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ont. and will see the winners of League1 Ontario, League1 BC, Ligue1 Québec and League1 Alberta battle to be crowned champions of the women’s Pro-Am game in Canada. It will be supported by partners CIBC, Gatorade and Derbystar.

The competition will kick off with a pair of semifinal matches on Friday, Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT and 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT, respectively. The winner of each semifinal will advance to the Championship Final on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT, while the other two teams will compete in a third-place match at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT that day.

The official draw for third annual competition will be held during OneSoccer’s weekly Match Night show, which will be broadcast live starting at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Sunday. All four clubs will be selected from one pot to determine the semifinal matchups.

The draw, as well as all four Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship matches, will be broadcast on dedicated soccer channel OneSoccer, available as a linear channel on Optik TV (Ch. 980), the pay-TV service operated by Telus, one of Canada’s “big three” telecoms companies, as well as on streaming service fuboTV Canada and internationally, including Fox Soccer Plus in the United States. OneSoccer is also offered as an affordable streaming service through the OneSoccer.ca website, via Roku, Chromecast and Apple TV devices and with the OneSoccer app for iOS and Android devices. The competition itself will also air on OneSoccer’s YouTube channel.

Three teams have officially clinched their places in this year’s Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship to date.

Whitecaps FC Girls Elite, representing League1 BC, will look to defend their 2023 Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship title. As winners of the 2023 competition, Whitecaps FC Girls Elite will also represent Canada at the 2024-2025 Concacaf W Champions Cup in August. The squad will kick off preliminary round play when it visits Salvadoran side Alianza Women FC at Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador on Thursday, Aug. 15.

Both League1 Alberta and League1 Ontario will be represented by  inter-provincial championship debutants, with Calgary Blizzard and NDC Ontario having both secured berths for the first time since the competition was launched in 2022.

The representative for Ligue1 Québec will be decided on Saturday, Aug. 3.

Individual match tickets for the 2024 Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship are now on sale starting at $20. Fans can also purchase a Weekend Ticket Pack starting at $35. Each Weekend Ticket Pack also grants the ticket holder access to the inaugural League1 Ontario Women’s League2 Division Final, which will be played at Tim Hortons Field on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. ET. The winner of the final will earn the divisional title and promotion to the L1ON Championship Division, the second tier of the League1 Ontario competition pyramid.
