The League1 Ontario Board of Directors welcomes applications from interested parties to acquire licenses to compete in the Men’s Championship Division and the Women’s Championship Division in 2024.
The Championship Division represents the second tier of League1 Ontario’s new three-tier competition pyramid.
The men’s and women’s licenses are being transferred separately. Organizations that would like more information about this process are requested to submit an expression of interest by July 31. Formal applications will be due by early September, and the announcement of who has been granted these licenses will be made by the end of October.

Matthew Braithwaite, League1 Ontario Managing Director, said: “This is a unique opportunity to acquire a license to play in League1 Ontario’s new second tier, rather than starting from the lower tier of competition in our new competition pyramid which is how all new license holders must enter our men’s and women’s competitions starting from 2024.
“Our preference would be for one license holder to put a compelling proposal forward and commit to playing in both competitions; however, they are available separately, and each application will be reviewed independently to find the strongest applicant that is best suited to enrich League1 Ontario.
“We look forward to receiving applications from ambitious clubs looking to enhance their own program and play a positive role in the growth of the Pro-Am game in Ontario as we move to promotion and relegation between our divisions next year.”
